Hi all,
I don't know anything about Java and really need to install this editor, since I'm running out of memories in my Juno and want to make more patches.

I have a Mac OS X 10.6.8 and downloaded the librarian, which is packed in a .zip file.

According to Bjorn (January 30th, 2010 at 14:15): "The zip file contains a jar file which is the Juno 106 Librarian Java executable. If unpacked, this file expands to a series of .class files. This file should not be unpacked."

The problem is whenever I click the j106.zip file it unpacks automatically and I'm stuck with the folder filled with .class files that Bjorn refers to.

If I check "Open with" I can see that this j106.zip file it is preset to open with Compression Utility by default.

What should I do?

How do I install the librarian without unpacking this file?

Please help!
Thanks a million!

Thanks thehypochondriac,

I was stumped until I read your comment. If you are having problems getting java to see your midi interface read thehypochondriac's comment...

Hello all,

I've had my 106 for a few years now, and use it quite often in gigs. Recently, some keys (different notes each time) tend to not work, which as you can imagine, is rather disastrous especially when playing live.

Any ideas what the problem is and how I can fix it? You'll have to forgive my technical ignorance when it comes to synths!

Thanks in advance,

Rh.

Got it working. It's Amazing! Is it possible to send program changes to the Librarian over MIDI? for example from Ableton Live. Are there any plans to turn this into a VST or AU? That would solve the problem!

Hi there-
Got the app working and it's great. I love the interface and basically everything about it. However, I am having a problem with my Juno-106, and I was wondering if anyone here could possibly help. The sounds on my synth don't match the patches that are supposed to be loaded. I am basing this off the list here:
http://www.synthmania.com/juno-106.htm
For example, my "A11 Brass" sound sounds like wind blowing through buildings, nothing like the example above. All of the sounds seem to have this overbearing Frequency start/stop thing going on, in the very background super quiet you can hear the sound the patch is supposed to be making on some of them.
I
I have done the tape load reset and successfully received new patches, from here:
http://www.hinzen.de/midi/juno-106/
with the exact same result as with the app. Same "windy" freq noise over anything. I actually performed this operation first and that is what led me here. now I am on a quest just to get my Juno back to factory at this point.
Is my battery dead?
Is there a setting on the Juno or in the software I am missing?
Please Help!
